Winter Moods
Lately we have experienced an intense cold spell. Wind chills below zero have brought about a change in lifestyle and mood for many. (Those in the south can be glad you are there, though you have been hit with cold as well. Everything is relative, right?)
Is the fierce weather the reason muscles tighten as we pull our coats and scarves tightly, ducking our heads from the wind? Does the temperature discourage outdoor workouts?
Does the chill imprison us within our homes? Do we fell less joy due to the perceived limits in our lives?
If so, perhaps it is time to evaluate expectations. Winter does that sometimes. It is not endless. It offers options for indoor recreation. Health clubs are open. Friends are on line and at the end of the phone.
Books, movies, crafts await us. Also, sometimes the sun comes out, the wind dies down giving us a day perfect for snowshoeing and skiing! Let’s keep alert for the good times.
