A MESSAGE FROM MARY MCGRATH
Take A Day Off from What?
When you say you are taking a day off, what do you mean? Will you be taking a day off from your job? Will you be leaving town?
Consider another angle to this day off business. How about a day off from something at work that you find irritating? Perhaps you would like to avoid areas in the work place where negative conversations take place. Maybe you will choose to eat with a pleasant person in stead of a griper for just one day.
What about a day off from activities that drain you like meal preparation? Perhaps tonight is the night to eat out.
Maybe you want to cut out from certain pressures that build up. To de-stress, take time off after work and stop at the health club or coffee shop. Browse in a shop before you go home to resume duties awaiting you there.
Do you have a habit that you want to break? Maybe it is too much to think about quitting smoking or using certain expressions you are trying to change. But for just one day you can curtail a habit.
Tomorrow if you take the “day off” you may appear at work or be at home, but interiorly you have made a decision. You will know why it is your “day off”!
