Adjusting to the Unexpected
Have you ever had something planned in detail? Have you set up an event or counted on something to happen on a certain date? Then have you experienced the disappointment of this event being canceled?
Recently I had a class canceled because during the summer as no one had signed up. I learned of this less than a week before it was to have been held. I tried an experiment. Once I knew it was canceled, I thought that I would then really pay attention to what happened during that class time to see if maybe it was canceled for a greater good. I did not expect that anything out of the ordinary would be happening but I thought, just in case, I would remember to note the time and see where I was and what I was doing.
Well needless to say, it was very apparent that the class had been canceled for a greater good.
I needed to be out of town to support a family member. Had the class been full I would have been in a real bind and so would that person. Lesson learned. Trust, accept and live in the moment.
